At Denali Grown, we operate a sustainable, family-owned farm and commercial greenhouse that provides our community with fresh, organic, and locally grown produce all season. We are dedicated to growing in an earth-friendly and eco-friendly manner and are passionate about educating our community on the importance of sustainable food systems. As farmers, we take pride in sharing our knowledge with others through outreach and farmers’ markets, and we believe that supporting local agriculture is vital to the health and vitality of our community.
Family Owned Sustainable Farm
As a young adult with special needs, BJ has been passionate about growing since he was a child and his love for it has only grown stronger over the years. As a child, he started his first seedling sale on a card table and his business has flourished ever since. BJ’s dedication to growing has only been amplified by his autism, as he finds comfort and fulfillment in nurturing plants. He earned a certificate in business management at the University of Alaska, Fairbanks in 2019, and his knowledge and experience have been invaluable to the success of Denali Grown. BJ’s passion for growing and commitment to sustainability make him an integral part of our farm.
Lori’s passion for gardening spans over 30 years, and she has dedicated herself to learning and growing as much as possible. In 2013, she completed the Alaska Growers School program at UAF Cooperative Extension, which equipped her with valuable knowledge and skills for sustainable farming practices. Her experience and expertise in gardening have been essential to the success of Denali Grown. Lori’s commitment to growing and sustainability is only matched by her love for her community, and she strives to provide fresh, locally grown produce to her neighbors. Her passion and dedication to growing are at the heart of our farm.
Last but never least, the amazing father, husband, and key support system of Denali Grown, Jeff. He is an essential member of our team, providing invaluable help day-to-day in supporting our farm operations. With his strong and knowledgeable skills in maintenance, he ensures that all our farm equipment and infrastructure are working seamlessly. He is always ready to lend a hand, and his contributions are critical to our success. His role as a dad and husband is equally important, as he brings his positive energy and unwavering support to our family and farm.
Experience Life in Alaska
At Denali Grown, we have some exciting future goals that we can’t wait to bring to life! One of our goals is to run Alaska lifestyle tours that will showcase our farm and the surrounding area. Our tours will include visits to our mushing kennel, where guests can meet our furry friends and learn about dog sledding in Alaska. Additionally, we are excited to build a seasonal gift shop and farm stand that will offer our community a variety of locally made products, including our fresh produce, flowers, and other goods. We are also eager to dive into the world of outreach and education in our local community.
